I.Learning Activity Description

1. What is ABCmouse Preschool Learning Activity?

The ABCmouse Preschool Learning Activity by Dadi is an elementary learning activity designed for 2-3-year-old children, which builds upon the foundation of the ABC guided learning activity.

2. Activity Content

"ABCmouse Preschool Learning Activity" is divided into two semesters, comprising a total of 13 thematic activities. These activities revolve around various engaging themes and cover about ten life-related topics, including basic greetings, family members, numbers, colors, and fruits. This activity allows children to experience authentic American pronunciation in a joyful setting, get acquainted with diverse and enjoyable English language activities, and cultivate a strong interest in learning English.

3. Implementation Method

Teaching primarily relies on engaging materials such as animations, vocabulary, poems, songs, puzzles, and picture books. Preschoolers can enjoy these activities while confidently and naturally speaking in English.

II. Advantages of Learning Activities

ABCmouse Preschool Learning Activity has the following four key characteristics:

1. Professional Learning System

ABCmouse Preschool Learning Activity is based on a professional English language learning app (ABCmouse) designed for 2-3-year-old children. It offers content tailored specifically for young children and provides professional pronunciation guidance at a broadcast level.

2. Simplified Learning Content

The activities are presented in the form of familiar everyday life themes, making them easy to understand and highly engaging. These activities are taught through interactive games, allowing preschoolers to interact with, experience, and learn English in a relaxed and natural environment.

3. Outstanding Learning Results

Through these activities, young children can learn simple vocabulary, phrases, poems, songs, everyday language, and their progress is visible.

4. Establishing a Strong Foundation in English

ABCmouse Preschool Learning Activity helps young children become accustomed to the ABCmouse teaching model. As they enter the preschool stage, both children and teachers find the transition smoother. The activity also assists children in developing proper pronunciation habits and a sense of language, laying a solid foundation for their formal ABCmouse learning in preschool.

III. Composition of Learning Time

The ABCmouse Preschool Learning Activity consists of three components, namely:

Regular instructional activities - 45 minutes/week

Fragmented time - 30 minutes/week

At-home app-based guided learning - 30 minutes/week

Students are expected to complete a minimum of 100 minutes of learning each week.

1. Regular Instructional Activities (Teacher guided learning)

-- The school will conduct 3 ABCmouse Preschool English activities per week, each lasting 15-20 minutes.

-- Teaching objectives primarily focus on listening, speaking, and experiencing.

2. Fragmented Time

-- Teachers will organize 30 minutes of fragmented time activities for preschoolers each week.

-- These activities will feature recently learned content from the ABCmouse platform.

-- Fragmented time activities are not aimed at mastery; their primary focus is on listening and viewing, with the goal of continuous reinforcement and deepening of impressions.

3. Family ABCmouse Activities (App guided learning)

-- Preschoolers are required to engage in 30 minutes of at-home game activities each week (which can be divided into three sessions, each lasting at least 10 minutes).

-- These activities reinforce what has been learned in school, helping to consolidate the achievements of campus teaching.

-- They also cultivate habits of using the platform and the ability to utilize the platform, laying a solid foundation for preschool-level English learning.

V. Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Is it not too advanced for preschool children to learn ABCmouse? Won't it be counterproductive?

Answer: The "ABCmouse Preschool Learning Activity" does not require preschool children to master all the key knowledge. It presents fun themes closely related to children's lives in the form of American English. It is not a form of advanced education or intensive training but rather follows the developmental patterns and learning characteristics of preschool children. It provides a very free, relaxed, and fun language communication environment for children to experience English while learning and playing.

Question: Why is the collective teaching time for preschool classes only 15-20 minutes?

Answer: The concentration span of preschool children is limited, so arranging 15-20 minutes per collective teaching activity is sufficient; otherwise, it would affect the effectiveness of teaching.

Question: Do preschool children need to complete ABCmouse home game activities?

Answer: Yes, preschool children also need to complete home game activities. Completing these activities helps consolidate their learning achievements, cultivate the habit of using the platform, and lay the foundation for learning in the small class. Therefore, it is recommended that every preschool child have an account and complete home game activities on time.
